Tucked between the meandering Tiber River and verdant Janiculum Hill, Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood is known for its ivy-covered orange and pink facades that line its winding cobblestoned streets.

Most visitors only stop in Trastevere to dine at one of the neighborhood’s beloved trattorias, but when I visit Rome, I love staying here. It has a warm, neighborly feel that you won’t find in the busier streets of Rome’s historic center.
